Managing Technology Failures: The Importance of Communication
Thirteen years in the technology field have taught me many things. One of the most important things I have realized is that no matter how hard you try, you cannot eliminate the fact that at some point your technology is going to fail. It may be due to severe weather, faulty equipment, or even the construction contractor who insists on cutting the fiber to the core switch during the middle of the day. As a manager I've learned that whatever the case may be, when it does fail, you better have a plan and a process in place to let people know what's going on.
VARtek utilizes an automated dialing tool to communicate with school personnel much like school districts typically use to communicate important information to their students and parents.
