Professional development will be an integral part of your career at VARtek. We offer formal in-house training and educational programs and help cover the cost of external education and training and certifications. We also help pay for personal device purchases so that employees can become familiar with cutting-edge technology. Team members have regular meetings with supervisors to review performance and goals.
Professional Development Offering
You will receive $2,000 per school year to use for continuing education or degree completion. Our employees have leveraged this fund to finish master’s degrees and bachelor’s degrees, earn such certifications as Project Management Professional (PMP), and attend industry-related workshops and seminars.
Because we are committed to bringing the latest technology to our clients, we believe our employees should have hands-on experience with the newest devices. So we reimburse 50 percent of the cost, up to $500, of personally owned technology per employee every school year. VARtek team members have used their technology offering to help pay for such devices as mobile phones, tablets, and laptops.
Our training department develops and delivers VARtek-specific as well as general management and leadership training. Through our Emerging Leader Development Program, high-potential employees can explore their leadership talents and position themselves to become the company’s next generation of managers and executives. We also provide job-specific training to employees in each functional area of the company.
All new employees receive up to five days of orientation, ensuring they are prepared with the information and tools they need to be successful in their roles.
Career Path Planning and Coaching
Supervisors meet with their team members twice a year to deliver formal performance reviews via our Paycor portal and to set short- and long-term career goals. You also will meet with your manager on a more regular basis to review progress on projects, clarify expectations, and keep the lines of communication open.
Many positions at VARtek require new employees to have existing certifications or to earn them within a certain timeframe. VARtek covers the cost of certification classes and exams, and your manager will work with you to make sure you are aware of and are able to meet expectations relevant to your role.
